Electrotherapies in Medicine Group (GEM)
GEM (Grupo de Electroterapias en Medicina) is an Argentine medical organization dedicated to offering electrochemotherapy as an effective, minimally invasive and innovative option for skin cancer, cutaneous tumors and other tissue-level conditions.
With a recognized scientific track record and results comparable to leading European centers, we support patients, physicians and institutions in implementing this technique safely.

Scientific research and medical practice
We are an Argentine organization dedicated to the development, study and clinical implementation of electroporation-based cancer therapies, with a special focus on electrochemotherapy.
Born where scientific research meets medical practice, GEM brings patients advanced, effective and internationally validated treatments for skin cancer and other tumors.
Mission and purpose
As a leading institution in Latin America, our goal is to bring biomedical innovation into clinical practice with safe, precise and evidence-based therapeutic options. We work with patients, referring physicians, clinics, hospitals and insurers to add electroporation technologies to the treatment options available.
What we offer
GEM combines clinical care, research, teaching and technology transfer:
- Assessment of referred patients and support through treatment and follow-up.
- Institutional implementation of electrochemotherapy as a complementary or second-line therapy.
- Medical training and technical support for professionals and institutions adopting the procedure.
- Scientific and technological advice for adopting ANMAT-approved equipment.
- Scientific output through publications, conferences and national and international partnerships.
Dr. Felipe Maglietti
GEM brings together physicians, researchers, engineers and professionals from several fields, led by Dr. Felipe Maglietti, physician with a Doctorate in Medicine summa cum laude, researcher at CONICET (Argentina's National Scientific and Technical Research Council) and director of the Barceló Institute for Translational Research (InBIT).
His pioneering work made Argentina the first country in Latin America to adopt electrochemotherapy as a standard treatment, establishing a model of medical innovation with a direct impact on patients' quality of life.
Professionals from many disciplines
Specialists in electroporation, plastic surgery, dermatology, gynecology, anesthesiology, nutrition and other key medical fields. This combined expertise lets us approach each case with a complete, rigorous view focused on the best clinical response.
